The Bench

The People Who Actually Touch Your Car.

Most shops will not tell you who is doing the work. Paintless dent repair is a craft, the result depends entirely on the hands holding the rod, and you are entitled to know whose hands those are before you hand over the keys.

5.0 stars across 807 reviews at the Escondido shop. Every estimate is read by a technician, not a salesperson.

Myke Toledo

Master Paintless Dent Repair Technician

On the tools since 1991, trained by his stepfather at the family business before paintless dent repair had a name in most of the country.

Myke reads every estimate that comes through the shop personally. He founded Dent Time with Mary in 2001, has trained technicians on four continents since the 1990s, and still works panels himself most days. The reason a repair here is quoted honestly is that the person quoting it is the person who has to make it come out right.

  • PDR Person of the Year, 2012
  • Lifetime Achievement Award, 2021
  • Trainer to PDR technicians worldwide since the 1990s
  • Aluminum and EV panel specialist

Big Jon, paintless dent repair technician at Dent Time in Escondido since 2008

Big Jon

Paintless Dent Repair Technician

On the bench since 2008, which makes him the longest-serving technician here after Myke.

Seventeen years on the tools and the kind of talent that does not need announcing. Jon takes the repairs other technicians walk away from, and the personality is bigger than the man, which is saying something. If your car is at the Escondido shop, there is a good chance Jon is the one reading it.

  • Paintless dent repair since 2008
  • Longest-serving technician at Dent Time after Myke
  • Complex crease and body-line work
Mary Toledo, co-founder of Dent Time, who runs the company from the Escondido shop

Mary Toledo

Co-Founder and Operations

Co-founded Dent Time with Myke in 2001 and runs the company.

The backbone behind the scenes. Mary is the reason the schedule holds, the reason a job that needs to move gets moved, and the reason the shop has run for two decades instead of two years. Most of what customers experience as "they were easy to deal with" is Mary.

  • Co-founded Dent Time in 2001
  • Runs scheduling, operations and the shop
Homero, bumper and scratch repair technician at Dent Time, in a Bumper Time shirt

Homero

Bumper and Scratch Repair Technician

Bumper and scratch repair, which is the paint side of the business rather than the metal side.

Homero handles the scuffs, the curb rash and the refinish work, mobile at your location and at the Escondido shop. He is fun and easy going to deal with, rides motorcycles when he is not working, and speaks fluent Spanish. His family is originally from Mexico City, so if Spanish is easier for you, ask for Homero.

  • Bumper scuff, crack and refinish work
  • Panel and key scratch repair
  • Fluent in Spanish and English
